Terms

What is promised, and what is not

Last updated 14 September 2026. These are the terms for using Emes Assistant. They are short on purpose, and they are written to be read rather than clicked past.

Who you are agreeing with

Emes Assistant is made by Asher Kasper, one person, reachable at info@leonsurplusdeals.com. There is no company behind it yet. When there is, this page will say so and anyone using it will be told.

Using the software means you accept what is on this page and on the privacy page, which is part of these terms.

What it is right now

It is early software, being tested with a small number of people who know the person who built it. It is not for sale yet. If that changes for you, the price and what it covers will be agreed with you first — nothing here lets us start charging you by surprise.

It runs on your machine, and that is your side of it

The assistant runs on a computer you own and keeps its data there. So the parts we cannot do anything about are yours: keeping that machine on and connected, keeping other people out of it, and keeping a copy of anything you would miss. There is no backup on our side, because there is no copy on our side.

You may run it for yourself and the people in your household. Please do not resell it, or run it as a service for other people, without asking first.

What it needs from other companies

To understand what you say, the assistant sends your words to Anthropic’s Claude — through the Claude API, or through the Claude subscription of whoever is signed in to Claude on that machine if its owner set it up that way. To reach your phone, notifications go through a push service. If you connect it, your calendar comes from Google. Those companies have their own terms, and their outages are outages of your assistant too. The privacy page lists every one of them and exactly what reaches it.

If we issued the key your assistant uses to reach Anthropic, we can see what it cost and how much it was used, and we can stop it — if it is being used to run something other than your own assistant, or if the arrangement ends. We will tell you before we do, unless the bill is running away in real time.

The part that matters most: it will sometimes miss

The whole job of this software is to remind you of things, so it has to be said clearly: it will occasionally fail to. A notification may not arrive, a machine may be asleep, a service it depends on may be down, and it may misunderstand what you told it. One morning during its first week the alarm did not make a sound and an appointment was missed. That is the honest shape of the thing.

So do not rely on it alone for anything you cannot afford to miss — a flight, a medication, a court date, a deadline with money or health attached. It is a secretary, not a safety system, and it is not for medical, legal or emergency use.

It is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind, and it is not guaranteed to be available, correct, or uninterrupted.

If something goes wrong

To the fullest extent the law allows, Asher Kasper is not liable for anything you miss, lose or suffer as a result of using it — including missed appointments and lost data. If liability is found anyway, it is limited to what you have paid for the software in the twelve months before it happened, which for testers is nothing.

Some places do not allow limits like that. Where that is true, these limits apply as far as they are allowed and no further, and nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer.

Stopping

You can stop at any time by uninstalling it. Your data goes with it, because it was never anywhere else. We can stop supporting an installation with reasonable notice, and if we do, the software on your machine keeps whatever it can do without us.

Changes, and where disputes go

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and anything that materially affects you will be told to you directly rather than left to be noticed.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and any dispute belongs in its courts.
